TIPS AND ADVICE

WIND RESISTANCE OF STEEL SHEET COVERINGS

EVERTILE has several times withstood the hurricanes at a speed of around 180 km/h, in the past. Sheet metal coverings do not hold on the roof by their own weight, but by attaching them to the supporting system (battens or plywood). This is a small disadvantage in assembly, but a big advantage in wind storms.

Basic installation rules

Evertile roof tiles are fixed with using screw-nails or screws into battens with 367 mm (COPPO 358mm) lower edge spacing . Usually battens have a profile 30x50 (2x2 in the USA), sometimes also 40x60 and they are placed flatly to truss, respectively to counter-batten.
