FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
- Doesn´t your tiles get rusted?
Anti-corrosive protection is guaranteed by the basic material - steel sheet with ALUZINC® coating. The layers of paints and varnishes, which significantly increase anti-corrosive qualities and together with design also increase lifespan, are applied during the production.
- Does moss occur on your covering?
There are locations, where the moss can occur. We have developed several years ago, together with our supplier of coating paints, and started to use, transparent varnish, which contains unwashing protection against the moss. If you are afraid of the moss we recommend you to choose our product Evertech G2.
- Why do you use stainless steel nails?
Above all because of resistance and lifespan of whole roof; 30-year warranty is provided for this covering and we do not want to degrade it by fixing material. Fixing by stainless steel nail is brightly defined connection once and for all. This nail is varnished and has grooving to not be pushed out by unstable wood.
- Does your covering need maintenance?
No, doesn’t. Our covering is maintenance-free.
- Is your covering colour stable?
Colour of the roof tiles with granulate is ensured by colouring of its granulate. In case of smooth tiles, colour stability is granted by used pigments. Every colour, which is exposed to weather influence in time, changes a shade. It is not possible to ensure to supply tiles with the same colour shade e.g. after 5 years when the roof is enlarged.
- What is the snow loading?
Roof tiles with granulate are as the natural snow holder. On the contrary snow will go down from the smooth tiles. More about installation of snow holders and snow holder systems is in our Installation guide.
- What is the difference between tiles with granulate and with smooth surface?
Roof covering with granulate surface has traditional tiles appearance. Significant advantage of our roof tiles is low weight. Smooth tiles are chosen by customers who are afraid of moss or they want gloss covering to emphasize character of the building.
- Are tiles screwed in places where the water flows?
No, the difference in installation compared with large-format covering, is absolutely fundamental. Roof tiles are mounted with corrosion-proof nails through the lower edge of the tiles into the batten. It wouldn’t be serious to declare that there is no water during raining. There is, but minimally. Corrosion-proof nails head without rubber or plastic pad is fixed into concave spot of the profile. So, it is not installation with zinc-coated screws with pads, over which almost all water flows from the roof.
