Basic installation rules

1. Evertile roof tiles are fixed with using screw-nails or screws into battens with 367 mm (COPPO 358mm) lower edge spacing . Usually battens have a profile 30x50 (2x2 in the USA), sometimes also 40x60 and they are placed flatly to truss, respectively to counter-batten.

2. Tiles EVERTILE are installed from the ridge to the eaves. Also all accessories and details have to be installed with the tiles. It allows comfortable work without need to step on the laid roof panels.

3. Roof tiles are usually laid on a half bond. Therefore, it is recommended to start each second row with a shortened panel. Panels can be cut to the required length or shape with lever scissors or electric scissors. Rotary saws and grinders can´t be used. Each cut edge should be treated with a repair acrylic paint.

4. Each panel has to be fixed with 4 pieces of steel screw-nails or with 3 pieces of screws in normal climate areas. In the hurricane area 5-6 screws SCR TX-25 must be used. Nails/screws are placed into the front edge of the tile. For assembly with screw-nails, we recommend using a pneumatic nailer (it can be rented for assembly time).

5. Most of the common roof details can be made with the original Evertile accessories. The shape and surface finish guarantee the best function as well as the whole look of the roof. Don't make elements on the site if you don't have to.

6. Modern complex solution of the roof covering requires venting the roof deck under the roof covering to reduce the occurrence and negative effects of condensation. Evertile is usually ventilated by inserted vent tiles into the first or the second row of tiles under the ridge. One ventilator is usually enough for the roof area of 15 m2. proper ventilation of the roof is the requirement for valid warranty.

7. The diffusion membrane, fixed under the counter-battens, should a standard on every roof and has to be of a good quality so it is not perforated during the installation and it keeps the function as a safety layer for the diversion of condensed moisture particularly.

8. At the gable, the roof is finished by bending of the end of panels up or down according to the type of the used finishing trim or the side wall trim. "Upper" type of the finishing trims is installed on the longitudinal batten above the end of the horizontal battens. The universal "bottom" type of the trims is usually installed to the level of the counter battens.

9. Do not step on the installed roof panels, even during the installation itself. If there is no other option, step on only with the soft shoes on the bottom profile of the tile, where the panel is supported by the horizontal batten. It is necessary to ensure safe access for maintenance of the chimney and technical devices during the use of the roof. Where it is necessary, original footsteps and footbridges (grids) can be installed. The system also consists of anchor elements for an easy installation of solar panels.

10. It is recommended to plan the installation of additional structures and devices (e.g. antennas, solar panels or lightning conductors) in a timely manner and to install it at the same time as the installation of the panels. Additional interventions into a fixed roof could be complicated.
